It's finally March

I've been waiting for what seems like years for Spring to arrive. Alas, we still have snow on the ground. BUT, it's been in the upper 40s/lower 50s the last few days with rain. Which means, melting snow!

I've been sick for the past 6 weeks with a cold, inner ear virus, and another cold/sinus issues. I've been to the doctor at least 4 times, had a CT scan on my sinuses, blood work done, and had countless phone calls with nurses. They all think (and I finally came to the same conclusion through a lot of prayer and some promptings) that this is a crazy virus. I've had two blessings and know I'll get better.

So, needless to say, this has been quite trying for me... mostly because I've been kind of dizzy/out of it and really tired with a lot of sinus headaches. But, I feel better this week already. Still not 100%, but I'm getting there. And we're going to the Temple on Saturday which is something I really need. It's been.....

ONE YEAR since we went to the Temple. I know. Slap me on the hand. I'm pretty ashamed. But I felt that I was too big and pregnant after last March to go. Then Charlotte came in July and if you have kids, you know how hard it can be to go to the Temple. (Even though that's a horrible excuse.)

So, things are good. I read my patriarchal blessing tonight-- something I've needed to do for months, but kept putting off and then forgetting. And I really felt the love of the Lord for me. And, like I just mentioned, I so needed that. I've felt really alone being sick, feeling like no one else knew exactly what I was/have been feeling. And I also kind of had this doom and gloom picture of the future-- that I would never get better, that I would always feel awful and wouldn't be able to do fun things with my kids, etc. Not really sure why I was so dramatic about this cold/virus/cold thing. All I know is that Satan really got a hold of me-- made me doubt my faith in priesthood blessings and in Heavenly Father's love for me, in general.

Don't worry... I know better!

So, on to some lighter things. Here are two videos I took of the kids over the weekend. And sorry for my baby voice in them (I think it's totally annoying), but I was trying to get Charlotte to talk.

Enjoy.

(Oh, and it was a Sunday afternoon and the kids had really no clean clothes. Please don't think I let Cameron go to school the way he was dressed!)

Five years ago today, Chad and I met. We met at a Valentine's Dance on Feb. 11, 2005 and were married 6 months later, August 12, 2005. Yikes!

This is a pic of our first date. Guess Chad knew something I didn't-- that he'd need a momento of that occasion!

So, 5 years later, this is what we have to show for it...
(you might need to turn up your volume to hear it)

And this is kind of old, but we still love looking at it...

We love our kids so much! They keep us cracking up.

So glad I gave you a chance, Chad! Ha! Just kidding. Well, sort of! So glad you came over to talk to me, that you found out my name beforehand and that you asked me for my number in the suave, Chad-like way.

I love you!

Happy Birthday, Da!

I told Charlotte that today is Grandma Leake's ("Da" to Cameron) birthday and that she probably thought that she was getting old.

To that, Charlotte replied:

Charlotte's 6 month stats

Poor Charlotte got 5 shots today!  Yeah, five!  She got the normal vaccines and the flu and H1N1 shots since she's 6 months now and can get them.

So here are her stats:

Weight: 16 lbs. 4 oz. (50%)
Length: 27 1/4" (90%)- again, you're welcome
Head size: 42.3 cm (41%)

So, for all of the people out there that think she's huge, in your faces!!  Really, it doesn't bother me that much.  But I knew she wasn't a porker-- she's just really long/tall.  It's hard, though, to not compare your kid to other kids, especially when she's the size of a few 12-month-olds I know.

Anyway, there ya go.  One post in 15 days.  Yeah, you know I'm not much into blogging.  This should suffice for another week or two!

Pictures from this last week...

This week was interesting.  We got back from VA last Monday morning (we drove 17 hours through the night.  Yeah... it was a LOOOOONG night).  Tuesday morning, I woke up totally dizzy.  All day I felt like the room was spinning.  I was bummed, too, cause I had an apt. to get my tooth looked at (another story), but knew I wouldn't be able to lay back in a chair and not lose my lunch.  That night was particularly hard, too, when I tried to go to sleep.  ANYWAY, I found out the next day at the doc's that I had fluid in my ears.  So, the dizziness has gotten better, but it's still not completely gone.  Let's hope it's gone by Wed., when I rescheduled my tooth apt.

Thursday was a really snowy day.  I think it snowed over 6 inches.  Chad clears the sidewalks and the driveway for our building so we can get some money off our rent each month.  The kids wanted to watch...

Charlotte adores Cameron.  Well, except when he accidentally trips over her head or something.  Then she acts like it was a completely personal attack.

Chad with the snowblower.  Look how happy he is!  Heh heh.

And just some pics of the kids the last few days.

I went to the basement today and brought up the walker we had for Cameron.  It's a walker without wheels.  I had to clean it up a bit and put new batteries in it and lower it.  But she seemed to like it ok.

Chad wanted me to take a pic of Charlotte's hair from the back (long on the side, spiky on top, and bald in the back).

A take on Christmas from my sister, Katie (cause I don't like blogging).

Poor Ginnie.
Her mom & sister - moi - bug her to put up pictures on her blog.
(Like, we bug her all the time.
Really.)

So, to be nice, I'm guest blogging right now & putting up some of her Christmas pictures for your enjoyment.

Ones of my choosing (mwahahaha).
With my own captions.

Enjoy.

Charlotte & Grandpa Bohon & Anna at the Bohons'.

Wyatt & Braden & Brad.
(I can't believe how huge they are. I haven't seen them in person since Ginnie's wedding - in 2005. Eeeek. I feel old.)

Travis & Shan.

Wyatt making Charlotte laugh.
(She loves little kids. Especially boys. Uh oh, Gin, watch out...)

Travis & Cam.
(I heard they got along pretty well, when Travis or Cam weren't stealing each other's toys. Ha. Gotta love 2 & 3 year olds...)

Gang at the Bohon house in Roanoke.

Chad's mustache project.
(Ginnie hated it, but I thought it was kind of cool...)

Beautiful Roanoke sunset.

Grammy Shorter & Cameron

Sticky candy cane face!

Grandpa (or "Papa," as Cameron calls him) & Charlotte & Cameron on Christmas morning.

This picture is hilarious. :)
