pics

I like this picture of Chad...like he's getting ready for the first day of school...uh, maybe a private school!

Ok. I think it's safe to say the baby is getting bigger! I knew that the pain he was starting to cause as he kicked me wasn't just my imagination...he's definitely growing. And sadly, so am I! I've been having more trouble breathing this week. Hopefully, he won't wait too long to drop so I can get a breath of fresh air again!

Chad presented a paper at a conference at school yesterday. Here, he's getting ready.

Chad got us Brave's jerseys. Not sure why...not sure when I'll wear mine, although he said I should wear mine whenever they play. Riiiiiight. We'll see if that happens!

Tired, uncomfortable, moody

So, 6 more weeks. I'm not sure I can handle that. Last night, I went to the store and had to leave after about 20 minutes. I was so tired and uncomfortable that I didn't think I'd be able to make it home. It felt like the baby was going to come out of my belly button! It's almost like he's growing too fast for my body.

When I got home, I collapsed on the couch and almost burst into tears. I just felt like my body wasn't going to be able to support this kid for much longer. How in the world do women do it? I'm afraid he'll be 12 pounds by the time he's born! My sister was 6 weeks early and weighed 6-7 pounds. Who's to say the baby's not already at that stage?

So I guess I'm in the worrying phase now. Funny cause just a few days ago, I was so excited to see him. Of course, I didn't want to be pregnant anymore, but seeing him was more important than the way I felt. Last night, being so exhausted and emotional, I got kind of upset when he jabbed his elbow in my belly button and wouldn't let me sleep.

I know it'll all be worth it. I just hope these next 6 weeks fly by and that he doesn't gain more weight than I'll be able to handle.

Yikes

So as not to scare anyone with the picture below when they first open our blog, I figured I should write something to take up space. Chad told me that he showed his co-workers the blog yesterday and was surprised to see that pic on there since he didn't know I put it on. Great. I'm sure they thought I looked lovely.

I think I had a Braxton-Hicks contraction today. We had a Linger Longer after ward conference, and when I got up to get some water, my tummy felt really tight and kind of hurt. When I pushed on it, it felt like a rock! Wow. So maybe more and more of these will come and that will mean the baby will come earlier than 7 weeks? Ehhh...probably not. I know it's just my body gearing up to give birth. Speaking of that, I was totally sore down in my pelvis yesterday, so I'm sure that means something's going on--hopefully that I'm spreading out a little to make room for the baby to be born and not for him to get way bigger!

My Discovery

Ok. So there are a few things I want to point out in this picture. First of all, our beautiful curtains behind me. No, we haven't changed them yet. I've just been too tired. Secondly, I look McNasty (as Katie would say) since it's the end of a long Friday. Third, I'm eating yogurt...not ice cream (the consuming of cake, cookies, and candy will not be photographed). And finally, I have a shelf!! I actually enjoy my shelf.

(Also, I'm leaning on pillows...it looks like I gained a ton of weight since the last pic on here, but the pillows add some, too!).

I got a blessing tonight. I woke up at 3:30am and felt like I was going to be sick. I knew that a girl I work with had the stomach flu last week, so I was afraid I was getting what she had. Work was a beast cause half of our staff was out either with sick kids or because they were sick themselves. I felt a bit better this morning, but then felt worse once I got to work. It was like that all day...felt good, then bad, then good.

We ate dinner and then ran to our last childbirth class on breastfeeding. I felt awful. And I don't think it was the breastfeeding part. Sitting there for 2 1/2 hours wasn't the greatest.

So I asked Chad for a blessing and he had one of our neighbors come over to assist (gotta love living next to members of the church!). And during the blessing, I got pretty emotional. I think it's because I was finally feeling what I had subconsciously been feeling for quite a while...pretty scared. Subconsciously, I've been really afraid for this whole new step in life. I've been afraid and I've also felt pretty unworthy. The blessing reassured me of the great good that I'm doing and how it's such a privilege to be a mom. It also said that the aches and pains and discomforts of pregnancy are so worth it once I have that little baby here. That's so hard to remember when you're going through it.

I'm really grateful for the priesthood.

I'm feeling pretty good today. I'm 31 weeks...not so long to go! I had a crazy dream the other night that I was drowning and the only thing I worried about was the baby. When I told Chad about the dream, he thought the only thing I would be worried about was him! We might have a little jealousy going on when the baby comes!

It's still really cold here. Before the big snow dump last weekend, it had started to warm up. But then it snowed again this week. So I'm a little depressed about it. We actually saw the sun today, for a couple hours. I can't wait until Spring! It will be so nice to get outside and take walks, etc. There's a cute little playground at the end of our neighborhood that will be good to take the baby to.
