The weird hair on the back on Cameron's head (the hair he's had since he was born) sometimes stands up after he's been laying on you. Chad likes to think of this as chicken truck driver hair. Guess Shanan and Clay will get this one...a family joke.

So Chad and I were going over our budget tonight for FHE. It was kind of a tense situation (as it always is when I realize just how much I spend...but hey, my body has changed quite a bit and I need some new clothes!). Anyway, I think Cameron knew how tense it was and that it needed some humor. He grunted for a while, and I knew he was going poop. But later when I decided to get up and change him (cause I could smell it), this is what I found...

Yes, I'm a bad mom. And yes, Cameron is a funny kid. We laughed our heads off and then decided to go ahead and give him his nightly bath!

I love the look on his face below...like he didn't know he had done anything. Cute.

I LOVE this swing! It allows me to take a shower without crying in the other room!

This past week

I had a hard time this past week. Cameron wouldn't take naps for a few days, which meant I couldn't get a break or take a nap. I was pretty upset about it (my weekly meltdown, as I like to call them), so Chad gave me a blessing. I was encouraged to see the bigger picture and to know that Cameron would have bad days or even bad weeks. But that it was normal for a baby to be fussy, etc. I felt a lot better after the blessing (poor Chad has given me SO many since we've been married). Now the problem is that I can't seem to fall asleep! So, Cam sleeps better, but I don't. Niiiiice. Well, I see my OB for my 6-week postpartum next Tuesday, so we'll see what she says about that.

Anyway, here are some pictures from the last few days. We LOVE that Cam is starting to smile at us more.

I was able to catch a little smile from Cameron...

He's already learning to stick out his tongue...great.

Is this my kid?!? I can't believe how chubby he looks in this picture. I put a hat on him so his head wouldn't burn yesterday. This is the only one I had and it was a little big , so I had to turn it sideways to fit on him in the bjorn. I think he looks pretty cool.

VERY excited about those hanging birdy things

Chad got Cam a glove. Yes, I know. He's only 5 weeks old. But Chad's a proud dad. I think Cam likes it.

Cameron had some major boogies. Chad found a fun trick where he could push on one side of Cam's nose and have a bubble come out the other side. It was pretty gross, but Cam seemed to like it...he smiled when Chad did it. I just missed the smile.

One month old and Cam's blessing weekend

Katie was here last week to visit and help out with Cam. Boy, she sure was a huge help! She would take Cameron every morning around 5am or 6am so I could go back to sleep for a few hours. I will miss her help now that she's back in VA. Then, Chad's parents and my parents came for a few days. Again, more help that was SO appreciated! I kind of feel like I did after my mom left the first week, although not so emotional and a little more confident in my mothering abilities. But I'm still feeling like I'm on an emotional roller coaster as our family has left again and we won't see them until the end of the summer. It's really hard living so far away.

Ok. Enough of that. Here are some pictures from the weekend.
