What we have been up to

Last Friday, I went strawberry picking. I picked quite a bit of berries. Yum! The Budrow didn't do so well toward the end of the trip. He was tired of sitting there, playing with hay straw and watching me. So I didn't get to mound the boxes like I wanted to. Oh well. I made some strawberry freezer jam.

We were supposed to go to the pool for a fun visiting teaching thing, but some of the girls couldn't go. So my neighbor turned on her sprinkler for the kids. I didn't take pics of that, but I'll get some when we do get to the pool. Here's Buddy in one of his many pairs of trunks.

About 20 minutes ago, I was talking to my neighbor on the front porch. I was leaning against the storm door (that was open). When I went to turn and go inside, this is what happened.

I took a better close up, but I didn't want anyone to get sick! It was pretty nasty.

This is what I have on it now to help the bleeding and the pain (I have paper towels underneath the peas). Fun Fun.

Oopma Loompa and the Temple?!?!

A few days ago, Cameron had ravioli for lunch. He got it everywhere! I knew he would, but I also knew it was something he would eat. So the opportunity cost of his eating it was small (did that sound nerdy?). Anyway, when it was over, it was hard to get the orange sauce off of his face, especially since scrubbing would be involved. So I left him. As an oompa loompa. What a freaky movie Willie Wanka is. Anyone else agree?

We went to the Chicago Temple with our neighbors yesterday. They watched Cameron while we did some sealings and we watched their son, Chris, while they did a session. Here is what transpired...

We had a picnic

The boys played

Cameron made some weird faces

We walked around

I decided a walk in the grass was a good idea

Then, remembering how it has rained the past 4,000+ days and noticing that the grass was soaked, I decided the walk in the grass wasn't such a fun thing.

I tried to console Chris when he was upset cause his mom and dad weren't there. We had some good talks about being a good example to Cameron since he's younger than Chris (about 10 months) and how he needs to be a good big boy cause he will have a younger brother next month. Yeah, I don't know how much of that sunk into a 2-year-old's brain, but it stopped him from crying. I tried.

We looked up at Moroni, whom Chris promptly told us was up there (smart little kid).

We played by one of the fountains

Cameron and dad played by the fountain near the front of the Temple

We took a rest from the long day

And it was a long day. Both boys missed their naps and really paid for it later that night. But, I'm still glad we got to go!

Dad's Day

Well, I was going to post a gazillion pictures in this one post, but the internet is being funny. So, here are some pictures from just.... today, actually.

Cameron getting ready for church

Working on getting Cameron to stay still for a picture

Still trying here. Notice how Cameron is trying to pull his hand away from Chad's. What a bungus (yes, mom, I called your grandson a bungus!)

Finally...Success! My two cute boys!

After church, they were pretty tired and the floor seemed just as good a place as any to plop down

Cameron, emaciated?

No, Cameron's been eating PRETTY well!

Cute Chad

Ready to watch the Braves game after dinner

He's a fan

Too Lazy

Ehhh...I've been too lazy to post anything new on here until today. So here are a few pics from the last week and a half.

Cameron's getting to be such a big kid!

It's getting hotter and since we live on the top floor, I feel like our place is at least 10 degrees hotter than outside or in our hallway. Chad set up a fan on Sunday. Cameron seemed to enjoy it.

Cameron fell walking up our driveway (it's kind of steep) last week. He got the scrape and bruise on his head from that. Then later, he got hold of a pen that didn't have the cap on. Then, he somehow scraped the side of his nose. *(After this was taken, he fell backward off the couch. It was a great day!)

Chad and I went to a Braves/Brewers game last Tuesday night. It was nice to have a date for just the two of us (Cameron usually tags along).

This is Jeff Francoeur-- we make fun of him because of the face he's doing here (he always does this as he comes up to hit). The pic doesn't really do it justice...just looks like he's smiling. But he seems to stick his upper teeth out more. Looks funny.

Miller Park. Those Wisconsinites love their beer!

One of Chad's favorites, Huddy (Hudson), with the windup

Chad and Cameron in their seersucker suits for church. Cute. (Notice Cameron only has one shoe on...?)
