Oopma Loompa and the Temple?!?!

A few days ago, Cameron had ravioli for lunch. He got it everywhere! I knew he would, but I also knew it was something he would eat. So the opportunity cost of his eating it was small (did that sound nerdy?). Anyway, when it was over, it was hard to get the orange sauce off of his face, especially since scrubbing would be involved. So I left him. As an oompa loompa. What a freaky movie Willie Wanka is. Anyone else agree?

We went to the Chicago Temple with our neighbors yesterday. They watched Cameron while we did some sealings and we watched their son, Chris, while they did a session. Here is what transpired...

We had a picnic

The boys played

Cameron made some weird faces

We walked around

I decided a walk in the grass was a good idea

Then, remembering how it has rained the past 4,000+ days and noticing that the grass was soaked, I decided the walk in the grass wasn't such a fun thing.

I tried to console Chris when he was upset cause his mom and dad weren't there. We had some good talks about being a good example to Cameron since he's younger than Chris (about 10 months) and how he needs to be a good big boy cause he will have a younger brother next month. Yeah, I don't know how much of that sunk into a 2-year-old's brain, but it stopped him from crying. I tried.

We looked up at Moroni, whom Chris promptly told us was up there (smart little kid).

We played by one of the fountains

Cameron and dad played by the fountain near the front of the Temple

We took a rest from the long day

And it was a long day. Both boys missed their naps and really paid for it later that night. But, I'm still glad we got to go!

I bet somewhere in the back of Cameron's mind in years to come, he just might remember going on temple trips with his mom & dad.

It looked like a fun, sunny day.

Again, thank you so much for going to the temple with us. It looks like you did about the same things with the boys as we did. Thanks for teaching Chris to be an example for Cameron and baby brother. I try to tell hims, too, but I don't think it's sinking in either.

Aw, Ginny. You are such a cute mommy. I love your blog. You are a mama-razzi, just like me. :) Wahoo! Mind if I add a link to yours in the "family" section of my blog? I know it's a little bit of a stretch... ;)

I also love all of the pictures of the temple. Ginnie, you could easily be a scrapbooker! Speaking of, I still have that scrapbook for you so you can dabble!

Thanks for the play by play at the temple. It looks like you had a lot of fun. What a good mom you are. And if Cameron will eat ravioli and doesn't mind getting it everywhere, you just let him do that. I love it.

So I totally think one of the first pictures with the puffed cheeks face looks like Grandma Myrtle...
