And Cameron is pretty shocked, too...
Remember this tree?
Cameron was pretty sad cause they cut it down yesterday.
Now, I'm not a huge nature fan. But I LOVED this tree. I think it's because right after I had Cameron, I had some ppd. Life was so different (I'd lost my freedom, this little guy totally depended on me, I wasn't getting sleep) and this tree was my constant. It was always so soothing to lay on the couch and look up into the sky and see this tree. It was always there--in winter covered in snow and with warmer weather, green leaves would start to grow (hey, I'm a poet!).
I actually cried a little when I watched them cut it down. Now there's no shade for the sidewalk, nothing for me to look at from the couch, and my constant is gone. Pretty depressing post, huh? I'll be ok. But I was pretty sad about it.

Sorry you lost your green buddy (the tree) ... but what a great way to learn to use your new MAC & all the photo features! good pics & good post.

LOL. How is it that you are funny when you are waxing poetic, and when you are feeling sad? I'm sorry for laughing at you... Please let me know if you hate me now. Anyway, I love the black/white photos, too!
I loved that tree. Maybe we should have a service.
I'm sorry, Ginnie. That sucks. Maybe you and Mandi could plant a new tree?
You cried? I'm a virtual bag of tears and kleenex!! You should have seen Ethan's reaction when he saw your post. That was OUR tree!!!! We climbed it, mowed around it, parked under it, watched the seasons pass through it through our front window, fought with the landlord about it, the whole shibang! It survived the neighborhood tornado with only one teensy branch broken and now look at it. What a tragic loss. I'm with you on having a service---I'd read "The Giving Tree" as a eulogy.
we can get a new tree... but new shade will take a while. i'm hoping i might be done with school by then. we'll see. heh heh.
So sorry about your loss. It's nice to have a friend when you've just had a child. I agree with Emily. Maybe you should plant a new one in its honor.

I'm sorry the beautiful tree is gone. I can understand why it's a loss for you!
Sad! I played around that tree a few times.
