Oh what do you do....while fasting?

So, we started our monthly fast (as in, the fast we do at the beginning of every month...not a fast that lasts a month!  Yeah right!).

What should I do?  I can't eat.  What do people do besides eat?  And I'm being totally serious here.  I eat pretty much all day, so fasting has always been especially tough for me.  And while I love gum, it's just not the same.

Well, I guess I can upload and post some pictures that I've been meaning to post for over a week.

My parents came two weeks ago today--they left last Saturday.  I didn't really take any pics of their visit with my camera cause my mom was taking a ton with hers.  Maybe I'll try to get some of those for you to see.

While they were here, Chad and I went to Sturgeon Bay up in Door County and stayed at a Bed and Breakfast.  I highly recommend it.  Our room was small, but cozy.  We had a whirlpool tub and a tv with cable (also a nice amenity considering we had JUST given up cable--my parents weren't too happy with the three clear channels they could watch while taking care of Cameron).

The White Lace Inn

A really cool old car someone at the Inn owned

The Gardens.  The second day here, I was on the phone with my sister and Chad kept throwing little rocks into the pond to see if he could land them on the lily pads.  He thought he was the coolest.  Don't worry...I don't think any of the fish were injured.

Sturgeon Bay is a quaint little town.  We thought we would see many more tourists, but it was pretty quiet while we were there.

The second day we were there, we took a marathon bike ride.  Yes, it was a marathon to me, Chad.  My bike's brakes got messed up and rubbed against my front tire the entire time I road it.  So, I pedaled the whole time while Chad was just cruising up ahead.  Maybe I'll look into a new bike somewhere down the road.  Maybe.  It was still a lot easier not having 25+ pounds on the back! (That's Cameron + the seat!)

Snack stop

This is the bridge you have to cross to get to Applebee's.  Yes, that was a major attraction for me.  It was huge and you could eat outside, right on the bay.  Too bad I didn't take a pic.  Anyway, we were walking across and talking about what would happen to the sidewalk part once the bridge lifted up for a boat to pass under and then this loud buzzing sounded.  This guy came out of a little house and waited for us to cross, but we had to run.  Can you imagine if the guy in the little house wasn't paying attention and lifted the bridge when someone was walking on it?  Be still my heart!

This was the sidewalk we were crossing.  Yikes!!

A cool boat

We had a great time.  It was so relaxing and was good to get away, especially since Chad had just finished his first two prelims (which he passed!) and things were stressful for a while.  But we missed Cameron a lot.

We returned home to our little redneck!

I'm impressed with the HUGE post. Your trip looked very nice! To answer your question of what do you do when you fast... my answer is anything that doesn't include food!!! I actually get on the computer or make cards or something. But like you, I'm constantly eating. Oh well. If you find the secret to making fasting more fun, let me know.
