We're alive

I know it's been a while, but our computer is pretty much dead.  Yeah.  Right before Christmas.  And at the same time that I've gotten a crown on my tooth (and my dental insurance is poo and doesn't cover it.  Cha ching!).

I didn't even think until this morning that I could load pics on Chad's laptop (that he leaves at home during the day and what I'm using to write this). 

So here are some pics from the last week or so:

The Zoo last week- it was pretty cold.  I only took a few pics because Cameron had several meltdowns.

And just a few pics of Charlotte in her cute hat. 

 

 

 

 

Cameron didn't want a picture taken of him.  He just wanted me to pour him some milk (the jug is behind his back).

 

Not too much new stuff to report, although I'm going to go home to VA on the 5th with the kids (my first time flying with two kids by myself!  Wish me luck!).  Chad will drive out on the 18th and then we'll drive back with him at the first of the year.  I'm excited to go home.  It's been a year since I've been there.

Do you think these kids are related?

Cameron was a zebra for Halloween.  Super easy costume to make (right up my alley!).  It was just white duct tape on a black hoodie and black sweatpants and craft foam.  Duct tape is the non-sewer's answer to sewing.

 

 

 

Cameron had a preschool Halloween party.  It was hard for me to take pictures cause I was wearing Charlotte in the Bjorn (she was really unhappy most of the time, too).  But we walked to Chad's building afterward, and I have never seen so many students smile as we walked by.  It was fun.

 Our safari clan (hunter/tour guide-ish guy, tiger, leopard, zebra).  Didn't get any pics of Charlotte's face cause she was so tired the whole time.  Cameron has also had enough by this point.

 

Kind of blurry, but I thought you could see my costume a little better from far away-- maybe you wouldn't be so blinded looking at it at this angle?!

Last Sunday, we took a little drive to the Arboretum for some fun with the different color leaves.

 

 Having been born in Madison, Cameron is a natural tree-hugger.

Oh, and I made a pie.  My first pie.  That's why there's a picture of it.  And that's why it looks kind of funny.  But I got a whole bunch of apples at the Farmer's Market and decided to try making an apple pie.  I think it turned out pretty good.  Yum.

VERY long post with pics...

I caught Charlotte chillin on the couch the other day and wanted to capture the moment.

 

Cameron was a little shy while Charlotte watched tv.  Oops.  I'm a good mom.

 

We got free tickets to a dairy farm through the UW (love all the family-friendly things around here).  So we bundled up and went yesterday morning.  It wasn't too cold outside, but the wind made it a bit frigid.

 

Cameron freaked out about everything there... even this big tractor that didn't move or make noise??

 This poor turkey  has no idea Thanksgiving is just around the corner.

This bunny was so soft.  I just kept thinking how nice it would be to have a makeup brush this soft...

 

 

 

Chad and I got to milk a cow.  Cameron was too afraid.  In his defense, Cameron is home from church today cause he had a fever last night.  Let's hope that's why he was being such a bungus yesterday.... that and he probably gets his fear of everything from me.  I'm a scaredy cat.

 

 

We got to go on a hayride and pick out a few pumpkins.  It was nice to sit down!

 

 

 When we showed up for the tour, we saw our neighbors, the Cowans, there!  Weird.  We hadn't planned anything with them.  They just got the same tickets we did and decided yesterday would be a good day to go.  It was fun to go with them.

 

Charlotte was hungry and cold.  So the last hour or so, she was very fussy.  But every now and then, she would just give up and fall over asleep.  It's like a switch was turned off.  Funny.

We had a lot of fun.  I haven't been to a pumpkin patch since I was little.  That's why I wanted to go... to give Cameron the experience, although I'm sure he'll get more opportunities in the future.  But it was nice to spend the morning together as a family.
