New Hair

My work gave me a $50 gift certificate to this really posh salon here in town. I know...in Madison? But, it really is a cool place. I would think I was in New York or something if I didn't see some farmland out the window. Anyway, I thought I should take advantage of the cool gift and got my hair highlighted/lowlighted yesterday. When the hairdresser dried my hair, I was in shock! I didn't know amber was a reddish color (let's blame that on my pregnancy, ok?!)! So I was a little upset about it, but decided I needed to just chill and see how I could really make it me.

So, I did my hair this morning and am pretty pleased with the results. It's pretty cool with some funky chunks she added for fun. What'd you think?

So ginni4,

I have a theory. Here goes:

Women. When they get pregnant they feel like they lose control over many things in their life. They cannot really control how they feel, how uncomfortable they are, how tired they get, how much weight they gain, and obviously all the hormones that affect the development of the baby do a number on the female psyche. This, as I understand it, is all normal and quite understandable.

As women grow tired of this lack of control, they react by changing something they DO have control over: their hair. A simple, yet effective solution. I've seen it in almost every pregnant woman I personally know. I support and respect your decision, Ginnie. Keep it up.

I keep telling Melissa that when she finds herself in the same position that I would really dig it if she tried dyeing her hair a dark brown color. I think it would be hot.

We'll have to see if she'll go for when she gets pregnant.
